For the fourth game in a row, they had to overcome a quarter-time deficit before overpowering CSU 13.14 (92) to 4.9 (33) for their 12th straight victory.
The Bushpigs kicked three goals to one in the first term and Hamilton said it was a good test rather than simply a slow start.
“We’ve had poor starts (in previous weeks) and that was on us, but CSU came out pretty well – they were really good early,” Hamilton said.
The Blues managed to get on top after the first break. They kept the visitors goal-less for two terms and then kicked away themselves with six goals in the last quarter.
Kodie O’Malley had another big game with four goals while Todd Clark was named their best in his 100th game for Coleambally.
“In this team there’s not just one or two guys that carry the side,” Hamilton said.
“Every single person out there, they’re all playing for each other and that’s the most impressive thing.”
Hamilton was a little concerned with the Blues kicking 4.7 in the second quarter. .
“It probably would’ve changed the game a bit more if we could’ve added a bit more scoreboard pressure on early,” he said.
He said the Blues can’t afford not to take their chances in the next two weeks, as they take on The Rock-Yerong Creek and then East Wagga-Kooringal, with the minor premiership at stake.
“We want to take our chances that’s for sure,” he said.
“But I’m looking forward to the next two weeks – it’ll be good.”
