In their last home game – and playing for a chance to move into equal fifth – Temora dominated the opening exchanges after Charlie Vallance kicked the first goal inside 30 seconds.
But the tide turned very quickly and they failed to match Saints’ intensity.
“I’m embarrassed at that performance,” Macri said.
“The first five or six minutes I thought we started quite well but it’s a very small sample and from then on they just controlled it and did what they wanted.
“That’s the most disappointing thing – it was like we threw the towel in at the 10-minute mark.”
Temora face the toughest finish to the season with away games against East Wagga-Kooringal and The Rock-Yerong Creek.
Vallance kicked three goals but was lucky to be playing. He dodged serious injury after hitting a cow in his car on Thursday night.
