Isaac Cornell, 13, and his mum Tracey have teamed up with youth cancer charity CanTeen in hopes to bring much-needed relief to young people dealing with a parent’s illness.
Ms Cornell, who is overcoming breast cancer, said the support has been “out of this world”.
“He’s had a social worker who comes to support him and he has caught up with other kids in similar situations – it’s just been fantastic,” she said.
“It’s great to know there’s an avenue for him to get help.”
The free program helps 14 to 22 year-olds adopt the coping skills to manage their stress and emotions.
