Concern over current restrictions on the road saw Wagga City councillors vote on Monday to investigate whether Wagga trucks over 15 metres should be able to travel the entirety of Red Hill Road.
Lifting the restriction would allow trucks to effectively bypass residential Wagga, avoiding high pedestrian areas like schools, Councillor Paul Funnell said.
Currently larger trucks, such as B-doubles, cannot travel between Olympic Highway and Glenfield Road.
A council spokesperson confirmed the report would be completed by the end of the year.
How to only let local trucks use the road “will be addressed by the report”, the spokesperson said.
