Terry Ahern has sponsored a pole as part of a plan to light up the lake but wants to see the program the start of more development.
A pier would be the next natural step for the lake, he said.
“It just could come naturally off the track as you walk around,” Mr Ahern said.
“It would be fantastic with kids fishing.”
Last year, Wagga City Council committed to partially funding the build and ongoing costs of Committee 4 Wagga’s lights around Lake Albert project.
But a dispute has erupted between the committee and council, with Committee 4 Wagga accusing council of delaying the project, a claim denied by council.
