Alemeseged Dubael, 26, is charged with having sexual intercourse with a female recruit without her consent at the Kapooka base on May 25.
He has not yet entered a plea and is on bail.
Solicitor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Lisa Hanshaw, told Wagga Local Court on Wednesday a statement from the Forensic and Analytical Science Service was still outstanding.
She asked for a four-week adjournment, which was not opposed by Dubael’s solicitor, David Barron.
“We are aware of it (the delay). The statement is necessary so the adjournment is not opposed,” Mr Barron said.
Dubael travelled from Victoria for Wednesday’s court mention.
