It is a timely message that comes as an uncredible website reports that Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio is moving to Wagga.
Apparently sick of the Los Angeles lifestyle, News Daily 10 reports that DiCaprio has allegedly found the change he is looking for in Wagga.
Adjunct senior lecturer in computing at Charles Sturt University, Ken Eustace, warned residents not to fall for click-bait.
“If that was true, it would be on the front page of every paper in Australia,” he said.
“What the internet does is expose us to human ways of attention seeking.
“They are hard to verify as being wrong but immediately attract interest.”
This story emerges just months after it was alleged that Robert Downey Jr had to change his tyre in Wagga.
Mr Eustace said fabricators rely on the curiosity of the consuming masses.
He advises people to verify the information through a Google search or other source before taking them as gospel.
