The ABC reporter is heading to Rio this Saturday as the head track and field commentator for ABC Radio.
Mr Hull has commentating in his blood from his father, Allan Hull, a renowned racing commentator in Wagga.
Mr Hull started as a cadet at The Daily Advertiser in 1995 before moving to Sydney in 1999 to work for ABC.
He now resides in Brisbane and has since commentated for London and Beijing Olympic Games, Paralympic Games, Commonwealth Games and National Championships.
The position as head commentator for track and field is the realisation of a long-term dream.
“To go to the Olympics is a great privilege and experience, no matter what role you have,” he said.
He described his upcoming journey as “daunting and rewarding” and said the nerves have not shown just yet.
“If you don’t get butterflies before a big moment, that’s the day you should do something else,” he said.
Mr Hull said no matter what your dreams are, coming from a regional or rural background is not an excuse for not being able to achieve them.
“It’s something I’ve always been really proud of, where I’m from,” he said.
