A social media post about Angel Gowns, a group of volunteers who turn wedding and formal dresses into gowns to bury stillborn babies, caught her attention.
“I wanted to give back to those who lost babies,” she said.
Mrs Fletcher taught herself to sew and is now one of only two seamstresses for the organisation in Wagga.
“I’ve made a couple of them now,” she said.
“It’s nice to help somebody in the same boat I was in.
“It’s about dressing a bub in something that someone wore on the most memorable day of their life.”
Angel Gowns supply clothes to hospitals in Wagga, Leeton, Young and Temora and are looking for more volunteers in Wagga.
Visit www.angelgowns.org.au for more information or to apply to volunteer.
