“The washout has affected us a fair bit,” Lions coach Daniel Lloyd said.
“It could cost us second spot yet. The two teams on top of us were going to play each other, one of them would have lost, and we were expecting a win against ANU, they’re coming last. Also, because we haven’t been able to train much, we’ve been getting a lot out of games.”
On Wednesday night, as council has closed McPherson Oval, the Lions will train at Gumly Oval or Mangoplah, regardless of conditions, focusing on ball skills.
On Saturday the Lions will pay tribute to former teammate, Steph Scott, as they play seventh-placed Molonglo in Canberra.
“It’s our Scotty Day, everyone will dig a little bit deeper to win,” Lloyd said.
“Molonglo treat us with a lot of respect, we have a really good rapport with them.”
