Rigney was floored right on the three-quarter-time that sparked a melee between both GGGM and Coolamon, along with a war of words between spectators.
Coolamon player Nick Curran was reported as a result, for allegedly striking Rigney.
The South Australian arrived at GGGM last week and played half a game in reserve grade against Narrandera, before making his senior debut against the Hoppers on Sunday.
Rigney, originally from Central District, was sharp across half-forward early on in a solid debut for the Lions.
“Obviously he’ll be better for the run but he’s slotted in really well,” GGGM captain-coach Luke Sicker said.
“He’s certainly a personality around the club, that’s for sure.
“He’s a character.”
