The church held its second annual Bake Me Up Before You Go-go bake sale to raise money and awareness for White Ribbon.
To the tunes that made the 1980s so memorable, including the bake sale’s namesake, people perused the range of cupcakes, scones, brownies, slices, biscuits and tarts for sale.
Volunteer Sarah Holmes said it was more successful than last year.
“We sold almost everything on the day,” she said.
More than $1200 was raised from food sales and donations.
The church is a women’s ministry and Mrs Holmes said White Ribbon was the ideal campaign to back to show their inclusion and support of women in the community.
Mrs Holmes said plans are already in progress to make next year’s event bigger, including applying for an annual grants program to help with promotion.
