Sheard was given his marching orders in the 57-5 win over CSU at Conolly Rugby Complex on Saturday, triggering an automatic one-game suspension.
After losing James Maloney after his third yellow card for the game, the Boiled Lollies had three players on their last chance but are looking to appeal after Sheard was dismissed for a team infringement.
Sheard has captained the Boiled Lollies for the majority of the season, and his yellow card took the gloss off the big win against the Reddies.
Honeyman is looking for improvement before the elimination final in Griffith next week.
“We weren’t too worried about the scoreline, it wasn’t our objective,” Honeyman said.
“Our objective was to make sure we played to the structure that we wanted to play for next week.
“We slightly achieved that, but we know we still have a bit of work to do.”
After taking a comfortable lead at the break, Honeyman was pleased to see CSU kept scoreless in the second half.
“Credit to the Reddies, they gave a good fight,” he said.
“I was very impressed with them, they never gave up.
"To keep them scoreless (in the second half) was quite a good effort considering they attacked quite heavily.”
The loss ends CSU’s season, with a draw against premiers Albury providing their only points for the season as they claimed the wooden spoon.
