Increasing demand for celebration cakes to be an assault on all senses took Wagga woman Kylie Haran halfway across the world to Paris to one of France’s top culinary schools about two years ago.
From there, she learnt about the fine art of not only beautifully decorating cakes, but keeping on top of taste trends.
Ms Haran said doughnut-based desserts continued to be a popular request, along with naked cakes, which have a translucent covering of icing on them.
The qualified chef has been producing her tasty works of art from her humble home, but now demand has meant taking the next step.
Harans Patisserie will be opening its first store on Fitzmaurice Street around September.
