But there were no greens in these sausage sandwiches as an overwhelming majority of snag chefs across the city threw their support behind The Nationals’ Michael McCormack.
Tatton local Lou Beck, who helped out on the Lutheran School barbecue, said Mr McCormack was the ideal candidate to lead the Riverina because of his community engagement.
“I see him out at a lot of local events and he’s always on top of everything that’s happening in the region,” she said.
She said education was at the top of her concerns.
“Whether it’s preschool, high school, tertiary – education is the top priority.”
