The plans are to redevelop the former South Wagga Bowling Club site on Fitzhardinge Street into a modular precinct housing courts and more room than the existing site on Gurwood Street.
The club was initially working with Wagga City Council to revamp the Bolton Park stadium, but talks fell through about 12 months ago.
PCYC regional general manager Brett Somerville said the plans were on display so the public could have a say in the future of the club.
“We want people to be aware of what we can provide,” Mr Somerville said.
“This is a really exciting project for the region. It will provide a state-of-the-art venue for the whole community with the flexibility to suit a wide array of user groups.”
Mr Somerville said the precinct was designed in a modular way so it could be easily changed to suit funding or design hurdles.
“We encourage everyone to visit our PCYC Wagga Facebook page, view our concept drawings and provide any feedback,” he said.
Wagga mayor Rod Kendall said the council would be factoring the PCYC plan into the master plan for the whole Bolton Park precinct.
“Council needs to maximise the efficiency of the whole precinct,” Councillor Kendall said.
“We don’t want to duplicate resources.”
Cr Kendall said while it was disappointing that talks with PCYC fell apart, the council has moved on.
He said the PCYC development, as well as the building of a multi-purpose stadium at the Equex Centre could lead to a repurposing of the Bolton Park stadium.
“We haven’t got a large business conference space,” he said.
“Because of (the stadium’s) central location, it could be a real possibility.”
A revised master plan and detailed business case will be developed, with input from councillors, for the Bolton Park Multi Purpose Stadium project.
A budget of $150,000 in the 2016/17 year has been allocated for the integrated master plan, which is to include Bolton Park stadium and sports fields, Oasis Aquatic Centre and Robertson Oval.
