The Grong Grong Facebook page has made a post encouraging people to share if they have been through the town.
“Even if someone has only travelled through Grong Grong once they would surely remember because of its unique name,” local resident and Facebook administrator Nicole Ivanoff said.
When the bypass is complete, traffic will be diverted around the small town which is home to 150 people, a pub, general store and an AgnVet store.
We want to put Grong Grong on the map so people will still stop.

“We want to put Grong Grong on the map so people will still stop,” Mrs Ivanoff said.
“We have popular free camping and new showers and toilets for travellers.”
In the first two days the post was shared more than 4000 times but has slowed down.
“I didn’t expect it to reach 4000 but now it’s got it, I want to get more - it’s addictive,” Mrs Ivanoff said.
The community is working on creating an earthpark which they recently received a $30,000 grant for.
“It is a unique back-to-basics natural play scape and food garden with vegetables gardens and fruit trees,” Mrs Ivanoff said.
