But Saturday night was the first time Amie’s father, Peter, spoke publicly about his own battles.

Mr St Clair spoke about losing Amie, his own diagnosis with melanoma in 2014 and his most recent scare with the disease to the 155 attendees of the Pink and Black Ball at the weekend.

“You could hear a pin drop,” Mrs St Clair said.

“He did an amazing job.”

It was a time to reflect and remember not only Amie but all those who battle melanoma and it was also a time to celebrate.

While the evening, which raised more than $23,000, had serious undertones, guests were more than willing to have some fun.

The Mighty Yak ensured the dance floor was packed all night and guests were entertained by a special last-minute performer.

A hat was passed around with the promise Mrs St Clair would reprise her Wagga Takes 2 winning performance if $1000 was raised – which she did with singer Mark Atkinson.

Mr St Clair also arranged a surprise for his wife – a life-size cardboard cut out of Mrs St Clair from Wagga Takes 2.

“I honestly think it was one of our better nights,” Mrs St Clair said.
