The thieves drove off with a small motorbike worth $50, a $700 television and a $300 stereo amplifier.
The victim had installed multiple surveillance cameras activated by movement and looking at video footage after the raid he recognised the vehicle the thieves had used.
It led to Cousley’s arrest.
Cousley, who broke into the house on November 13 last year, pleaded guilty to aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence (larceny) in company.
In Wagga District Court, the 23-year-old North Wagga man was given a two-year head sentence, with 12 months’ non-parole.
The sentence was backdated to December 7.
