A 61-YEAR-OLD woman has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after she was hit by a car on Bourke Street just before 1pm.

Police are investigating the collision on the arterial road after a south travelling Barina collided with the woman near the Mount Austin Public School crossing.
Traffic was blocked along Bourke Street while paramedics tended to the woman and police spoke to nearby witnesses.
The woman suffered injuries to the head, chest and arm.
Southbound drivers were diverted down Jack Avenue following the collision.
A spokesman for NSW Ambulance confirmed the woman had been hit by a car and was sent to Wagga Rural Referral Hospital with unknown injuries.
The road was re-opened shortly after 1.30pm.
