The annual emergency services blood drive challenge is back and the Turvey Park Fire Brigade has thrown down the gauntlet to its rivals.
Jason McDonnell saves lives for a living in his role as station commander of the Turvey Park Fire Brigade.
He also saves lives off the clock by donating plasma regularly.
“One donation saves three lives,” Mr McDonnell said.
“I challenge the other services to donate.”
The annual statewide challenge starts today and continues through to August 31.
Last year, they made 7189 donations across Australia – 50 per cent more than in 2014. To save a life, contact the Red Cross blood service on 13 14 95.
