Blake Draber scored in the dying seconds of the game to level things at 30-all.
Dean Bristow had a sideline conversion attempt to win the game for the Blues but was off target.
The Bulldogs hit the front with three minutes ago, before Draber ensures the two struggling teams shared the points.
Tumut captain-coach Luke Srama said his team let the slip from their grasp.
“Any game if you score 30 points you should win the game but when you let 30 points in defensively it is very disappointing,” Srama said.
“One point is better than none but it is just disappointing after the way we were playing at the start.”
Tumut suffered a heavy count in the second half which enabled Cootamundra to get back into the contest.
