Corbett stepped up with a big last quarter effort as the Lions went down to Griffith by 11 points.
Corbett took a couple of big marks and booted two goals in four minutes, including one from outside 50, to get GGGM back in front early in the final term.
On an emotional day for the club, it was not to be as Griffith responded with a couple of late goals to win by 11 points.
Just five days after the passing of former president Pete McCaig, his son Jack took to the field and played his best game of the season in defeat.
A number of Lions guernseys were hung over the boundary fence around Ganmain Sportsground in tribute to the great GGGM man, who passed away on Tuesday.
His funeral will be held at midday on Wednesday at Ganmain Sportsground.
