Police have charged a 43-year-old man after they found 16.5 kilograms of cannabis in a car at Hay.

Just after 9pm on Saturday night, police from Deniliquin Local Area Command were conducting patrols on the Sturt Highway when they stopped a Holden Commodore at a service station on the Sturt Highway for a random breath test.
Police spoke to the driver and conducted a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result, before searching the car.
According to a police statement, officers allegedly located and seized cannabis with an estimated street value of up to $143,000.
The man was arrested and taken to Hay Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear at Deniliquin Local Court on Sunday.
