The Blues took some time to adjust to the game at Peter Hastie Oval as the Bushpigs got on top in the first half.
But the visitors powered home, kicking eight goals to one after halftime for a 12.11 (83) to 7.3 (45) win.
Blues coach Josh Hamilton wasn’t happy that they were held to a goal in the first quarter as CSU made life difficult getting numbers back.
Coleambally were also outscored in the second quarter but controlled the game in the second half.
“We had an ordinary start, we didn’t play to our strengths,” Hamilton said.
“But once we started to use the ball a bit better the game broke open a bit.”
Brandon Mathews did the damage for Coleambally once they got going, finishing with six goals.
While assistant coach Tom Groves led by example.
“He’s been playing well the last couple of weeks and he’s probably one of the few guys who plays four quarters,” Hamilton said.
“He’s playing on the wing but he gets back well.”
Coleambally are third on the ladder, a win clear of Temora and Marrar, but face The Rock-Yerong Creek (away) and East Wagga-Kooringal (home) next.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Hamilton said.
“I don’t know a great deal about them but I'm just concentrating on what we can do right.”
CSU’s loss was compounded by Shane Carroll being reported for strking Jackson Painting in the third quarter.
