The Bulls ran in 12 tries to one to inflict the biggest loss of the season on the reigning premiers at Jarrah Oval.
Reynolds was among the team’s best, while Josh Cutteridge and Chris Bolton both crossed for doubles as all of Tumut’s points came from the back line in the 85-5 win.
The Bulls put plenty of points on the board, but coach Daniel Dowson was more impressed by the team’s defensive effort.
While disappointed to concede a try late in the game, he thought their defence stood tall when the Steamers had plenty of possession on their line.
“It was a bit scary there for the first 15-20 minutes of the second half when they really put it to us and we were hard on our line and having to defend,” Dowson said.
“They boys got through it and got back on attack.”
Dowson sat out the game after being concussed in the clash with Leeton last week but admitted it wasn’t as easy going as the scoreline suggests.
“It was a good game, it wasn’t easy and they made it hard for us at times, but we stuck to our structure, stuck to our game plan and it come off from that,” Dowson said.
“They weren’t easy tries, we had to work for it, go through the motions and do the set pieces right.
“The goal was for everyone to do their jobs and make it easy for everyone.”
Dowson said he will come back through second grade this week and is expecting a tougher challenge against Ag College in Wagga on Saturday.
Ag College have lost three of their last four games and haven’t scored a point in their last three halves of football.
