It comes as an external report into Wagga’s controversial Glenfield Road Animal Shelter was released by the council early Friday afternoon.
Organisers of the protest received a boost this week with Member of the NSW Legislative Council Mark Pearson to appear at the demonstration, which will be held on the steps of the council chambers on Monday.
The Animal Justice Party member confirmed he would be joining those distressed and concerned about how the animal shelter has been managed.
“(The actions of the animal shelter’s management) seem to be quite reckless,” Mr Pearson said.
“I will keep pressure on minister Niall Blair – he can’t keep the issue at arm’s length.
“He can’t expect (charity organisation) the RSPCA to keep the pressure on.”
Protest organiser Brendon Wardle said he was expecting around 100 people at the rally.
“We’re committed now, we can’t stop,” he said.
