The city is preparing to bid autumn farewell and will do so this week with temperatures struggling to reach the May average of 17.4 degrees.
Today saw the city experience the coldest minimum temperature of 2016 of 1.3 degrees.
Residents around the Riverina also woke to frost on their lawns and cars.
Bureau of Meteorology’s technical officer Bruce Copplestone said residents can also expect more rainfall.
The bureau has recorded 84.8mm of rain this month, 35mm above the monthly average.
Mr Copplestone said residents can also expect above average maximum and minimum temperatures throughout winter.
