Greipel ($11.00) sat midfield, three wide with cover, and took the entire straight to run down Cootamundra sprinter To A Degree ($31.00) in the final 50 metres.
Chosen Prayer ($10.00) also finished strongly to grab second, while To A Degree hung on for third.
Corowa trainer Geoff Duryea was pleased with the four-year-old’s performance.
“He’s tough, I’m very happy with him,” Duryea said.
“Only carrying the 54 helped him race tough. He did a bit of work in the run but when it gets down to a dog fight, there is a lot of fight in him.”
Brock Ryan said it was a great feeling to win the last, after Grand Proposal broke down on him in the Cup.
