Lochlan Landrigan, 19, was sentenced in Wagga District Court by Judge Phillip Mahony after pleading guilty to being a principal in the second degree to armed robbery.
Landrigan conspired with Junee man Jamie Allen Evans, now 21, to rob the Westside Petroleum service station on Illabo Road on April 27 last year.
According to agreed facts tendered to the court, Landrigan and Evans met in a Pretoria Street home unit about 9pm that day and discussed committing an armed robbery.
“Let’s roll these (expletive),” Evans said when the plans were finalised.
Before leaving the premises, Evans grabbed a 30-centimetre-long sword, a black full-faced motorcycle helmet and a large black and yellow bag.
About 10.20pm, Landrigan drove Evans to Percy Street and waited with the car motor running while Evans committed the robbery.
Evans bailed up the attendant and ran off with $750 in notes and $50 in coins in the bag.
Back in the Pretoria Street unit, Evans and Landrigan emptied the bag onto a loungeroom table and counted the loot.
Two days later, police received information that led to the discovery of the bike helmet and the bag in a Pretoria Street yard.
Just a short time later, Wagga detectives went to the unit where the crime was hatched and found Evans and the sword he used in the robbery.
Landrigan was arrested four months later.
He initially denied involvement in the robbery, but later admitted his role.
Judge Mahony jailed Landrigan for 14 months, backdated to March 14. He will be released on 13 months’ parole on May 14 next year.
Evans last September was jailed for 16 months backdated to April 29 last year after pleading guilty to armed robbery.
He will be released on August 28 and will be on parole for another 15 months after then.
