Best Friends Pet Rescue will feature on the front of the White Pages and Yellow Pages for the next 12 months.
President and co-founder of the Wagga branch, Janey Adams, said it was a huge honour.
“Everybody is going to be reminded that if they are looking for an animal, PetRescue could have one for them,” she said.
The children featured on the front cover, Frank and Morris, come from families who are foster carers for Best Friends Pet Rescue animals and have adopted their own kittens or dogs.
Buddy the German Shepherd and Deedee the Kelpie are also seen on the cover.
Ms Adams said the exposure to be gained from featuring on the directory is unparalleled.
“It is going to reach a whole demographic of people that wouldn’t think to do an internet search to get their next pet,” she said.
There are currently 62 cats and kittens and 27 dogs and puppies fostered by Best Friends Pet Rescue in Wagga.
All phone directories across the country will feature their local PetRescue branch on the cover.
The new phone books will be delivered from May 7.
