It comes after Tuesday’s federal budget saw university students reign victorious as the controversial university fee deregulation policy was dumped by government.
But the 19-year-old CSU student has expressed her “distress” over a 20 per cent cut to overall university funding.
“It's very comforting to know I won't have to fork out half a house to enter my career, but I think the cuts to funding could come back to bite us,” she said.
“If CSU takes cuts, I have to wonder if we’ll be the ones left to suffer.
“It’s particularly worrying in a regional area with one campus.”
The funding cuts were originally proposed as part of the deregulation package.
