The tax free threshold for backpackers will be scrapped from July 2016.
Owner of Hanwood vegetable packing company Rinaland Ross Grillo slammed taxing backpackers at 32.5 per cent from their first dollar earned.
"Cherry growers need 300 pickers for just six weeks," he said.
"This will be disastrous."
