A giant water tank overlooking Wagga, atop of Willans Hill, will become the city’s newest large-scale artwork.
Expressions of interest for the artwork, which had to embody a water theme, closed on Monday and the chosen mural artist and design will be finalised next week.
It comes after the Wagga Society of Model Engineers commissioned a local artist to paint a mural on the nearby miniature railway tunnel in November to try combat graffiti.
The concrete reservoir on Willans Hill has 4500 kilolitres capacity and serves as the base storage for Wagga.
The project has a budget of $14,500, which includes all materials, costs, artist fees, travel and insurance.
