The ladder leaders scored a 85-0 win over the winless Reddies to remain unbeaten after four rounds of the competition.
Despite putting in another impressive display in attack, scoring 13 tries in the win, what impressed coach Will Mitchell more was keeping their opponents to nil.
“The best thing about today was keeping the scoreboard to zero,” Mitchell said.
“We have been leaking a few points and the good sides will keep capitalising.”
Despite another big win, Mitchell was far from impressed with the team’s handling.
“Our turnovers were shocking,” he said.
“We had somewhere around 20 turnovers of the ball from just carrying loosely and pushing passes.
“There is a real focus for us to play disciplined footy in attack, hold the ball and pull the trigger at the right time.”
Waratahs have scored an average of 70 points this season, but the coach still believes they can improve.
“We are happy with the scoreline but we are not happy with our execution,” Mitchell said. “We are definitely not playing the footy we are capable of and it is a good thought to have knowing we can put a lot of points on sides, but we are still not playing to our potential.”
Sam Hobbs was among the team’s best while Sean Kearnes once again got through plenty of work at number eight.
Angus Le Lievre and Chris Murray both crossed for trebles in the big win while Justin Shortis and Matt Meggison bagged doubles.
Mitchell also thought the bench gave plenty of impact, particularly when captain Tim Corcoran came on.
“Our bench really picked the tempo of the game up when they came on,” he said.
“It is good to have good depth.”
However, it leaves him with a selection headache on his hands.
Waratahs will have their biggest test to date at home to Tumut on Saturday.
Both teams have won all four of their games to start the season.
“We are looking forward to Tumut next week,” Mitchell said.
“We can definitely improve, there is no doubt about that, and are really up for Tumut.
“We are excited about taking on their forwards, which I hear is a very strong forward pack.”
Mitchell expects the clash will give a clearer indication of where his team is at as they look to go one better.
