The nominations for two of the biggest days in country racing will be released at 11am and the Waller stable is expected to be at the top of the tree.
Highly-performed stayers Index Linked, Beyond Thankful and Dance Of Heroes all have links to Wagga and are expected to be nominated for the Cup.
Waller told The Daily Advertiser he will wait to see the nominations before he has a better idea as to which horses will make the trip.
It is believed the conditions of the track will have a large say on what horses he sends.
Top metropolitan jockeys Blake Shinn, Brenton Avdulla, Dwayne Dunn, Glyn Schofield, Tye Angland and Tim Clark will all ride at the carnival.
Shawn Mathrick’s impressive last-start Caulfield winner Adirondack is bound for the Cup on his to a tilt at the Doomben Cup.
City trainers John Thompson, Jason Coyle and Peter Robl also have horses aimed towards the Cup.
Matthew Dale-trained sprinter Unanimously will shoot for a piece of history in the Town Plate when he aims to become the first horse to win the race on three occasions.
