Hunter has been named at centre-half-back for the clash against the Lions at Mangoplah Sportsground.
It is a timely inclusion given MCUE are without Isaac Damme (unavailable) and Jake Whitley (shoulder).
The pair played across half-back last week and were two of the Goannas’ best in the win over Collingullie-Glenfield Park.
Hunter can play a variety of roles but the Goannas have thrown him into a key defensive post to help cover the loss of Damme and Whitley.
“We’ve lost two thirds of our half-back line from last week so Nathan will start there for sure,” MCUE co-coach Travis Cohalan said.
“We know Nathan can play forward, back or in the ruck, whatever is best for the team and this week we need some height down back. He will play in the ruck as well.”
