While the Kangaroos flew into Wagga on a late afternoon charter flight, Collingwood’s stars were on the ground for close to half an hour, getting a taste of the conditions for Saturday’s game, before signing autographs for supporters.
Both teams are at pains to point out the NAB Challenge is about focussing on their own game and not the opposition. But Magpies midfielder, Taylor Adams, is anticipating a serious hit-out against the Roos.
“They’ve got a lot of depth in the midfield and Todd (Goldstein’s) a great ruckman, if not the best in the comp,” Adams said.
“They’re a tough side but we pride ourselves on our grunt and ability to win the contested footy and we’ll be hoping to have a game with close to the intensity of the season.”
Both teams are coming off a win in the opening round.
The match starts at 4.40pm with gates open from 3pm.
