Captain Andrew Swallow, Nick Del Santo and Daniel Wells have all named in the team to take on Collingwood in Wagga on Saturday.
In the two seasons since Nick Dal Santo crossed to the Kangaroos, the former Saint, Wells and Swallow have played together in just seven of a possible 50 games.
Both clubs named strong outfits for their second NAB Challenge hit out on Thursday.
Wells will make his first appearance for the season, after two injury-plagued years.
The two-time North best and fairest winner has had a wretched injury run recently, playing just 12 games over the past two seasons.
A Lisfranc foot injury sidelined him for most of 2014 and persistent Achilles problems restricting him to two games last year.
Coach Brad Scott has spoken about struggling to cover depth in the midfield.
Having named the three quality players is a big boost for the Kangaroos coming off an impressive win over St Kilda to start the season.
Defender Luke McDonald is expecting a bigger test this week from the Magpies.
"It's so much a team game these days that you can't have one weak link,” McDonald said.
“We've been working a lot on our game plan and it'll be a test against Collingwood.”
Collingwood have also named a strong team, featuring the first appearance of captain Scott Pendlebury and Travis Cloke for the season.
Both teams will arrive in Wagga on Friday, with Collingwood to host an open training session at Robertson Oval.
Fans are able to watch the team go through its paces as well as get autographs at the end of training.
There will also be a BBQ, free face painting, giveaways, inflatable AFL kids' games, and membership and merchandise for sale.
Gates open at 4.30pm.
Southern NSW community football program manager Paul Habel has been pleased with the ticket sales.
As of mid-Thursday, over 5500 tickets had been sold for the clash, with thousands more expected in walk-up sales. Habel is looking to see 9000-10,000 people come through the gates.
