The knockout starts Friday night, with the Greens taking on Temora.
“Over the last two weeks we have been working kickoff sets and patterns to get ready for the knockout,” Pike said.
“They are prepared for it, but I think we lack experience.
“We’ll lead from the front and hope that the young ones are fit enough.”
The Temora Dragons will be a difficult opponent in the do or die match up. The winner will move on to the finals on Saturday.
“It will be a tough game,” said Pike.
“Temora looks good.”
The Temora Dragons are led by ex-NRL player Daniel Fitzhenry.
“We expect they will have their big boys out front,” Pike said.
“They have a handy forward pack. Overall they look very fit. It is going to be a tough first game.
This will be Pike’s first chance to see the Greens in action and analyze their performance.
“We will be missing Jeremy Panuccio, who will be away due to a prior commitment,” Pike said.
“I expect I will get a fairly good look (at the team). They’ll come good once they get a couple of games under their belt.”
