The cockpit lighting system - the Green Orientation or GO Light - has the potential to save lives by helping to stop accidents caused by spatial disorientation.
Mr Crane, a South Australian livestock carrier whose Cessna 210’s landing gear failed to secure, said spatial disorientation “was worse than engine failure”.
“It’s been a problem in the air industry since the dawn of time,” Mr Crane said. “We’re pretty confident we have a remedy.”
Mr Crane, who was flying to Wagga on business, is in the process of putting the system on a headset “to show people exactly what it does”.
