Competition was fierce with the CRD team of Carol Sanbrook, Patsy Lawson, Joan Stair and Helen Jennings coming out victors with Carol McCaig, June Crozier, Jan Martin and Carol Alkermade from Ganmain runners up.
Making an early start on the 2016 year, the Open and Senior Fours were decided over two days last week in very hot weather.
L Maher(s), M Thornton, L Carroll & J Fitzsimmons and C Sanbrook (s), J Smith, J Graham & M Hillier were successful in getting through to the final of the Senior Fours. The score seesawed all through the game with L Maher’s teams ahead 19-18 going into the last end. Everyone was on edge when the jack was moved back to give C Sanbrook’s team the match 20-19.
K McMillan (s), J Mitchell, A Bower & E Larkin won the Senior Fours final 24-16 over V Burkinshaw (s), M Hounsell, J Edwards & V Quigley.
