Organisers ensured there were plenty of opportunities to cool off, allowing students to jump in the pool at regular intervals between races.
“Participation was really good through the day, and so was the participation with house cheering,” organiser Anne Cowell said.
Among great feats in the pool, there were also great displays of sportsmanship.
A pair of students who weren’t confident enough to go in the 50m races banded together to support those who were all day long.
“They stood there, cheered and organised students, and numerous teachers and parents mentioned how good their house spirit is,” Cowell said.
Sturt house was the winning house, and the prize was very closely-contested this year.
