Senior has made news again, selected for the NSW development team after a successful few months, winning medals at a state and national carnival.
She achieved a top 10 result in each event, and won medals in a couple of her favourite events.
Under the guise of the best coaches in the industry, Senior will fine-tune her preferred stroke, backstroke, propelling her swimming career forward.
“It’s a great opportunity, I haven’t had that [specialised training] before, hopefully it can help,” Senior said.
“When I heard the news I was pretty excited about it, and I’ll just focus on training here to prepare me for when I go up to Sydney and have some fun with my age group.
“I don’t have as much competition in my local area so it’s great to go up there and be pushed along by them.”
It has been several years since a Wagga swimmer was selected to swim with the state development squad, and the personal milestone is a first for Senior.
Senior will travel to Sydney every month for training, dipping her toes in the water for the first time in March.
Next Senior will compete at her school carnival, the Wagga High Swimming Carnival on Thursday, and she’s also in training for the country carnival in two weeks.
