The woman – a former nurse and Calvary patient who did not wish to be named out of fears of reprisal – said she was made to wait two weeks to access Calvary’s hydrotherapy pool because “there was a backlog and they were short of staff”. She fears MLHD’s decision to close the public pool at the hospital and open use of Calvary’s facility to current user groups for $6 an hour will only exacerbate wait times.
Calvary is “working with the patient to find out what happened”. ”Calvary’s new hydrotherapy pool has more than enough capacity to serve private and public patients, community groups and physiotherapists,” Calvary Riverina CEO Anton Reyment said. “Let’s be clear, we are not running the pool as a commercial venture. The fees will not cover the running costs.”
The pool is available to MLHD patients undergoing in or outpatient rehabilitation, community groups and private physiotherapists.
