The pupils are preparing to make pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday, or Pancake Tuesday.
The occasion is traditionally the day before lent starts on Ash Wednesday and is marked by eating pancakes, an indulgence before 40 days of fasting.
“For us, we are a preschool operating under a Christian ethos so celebrating these days, Shrove Tuesday, Easter and Christmas, is typical for us,” preschool director, Lisa Addison, said.
“At their level, it’s more about the cooking experience and eating pancakes.”
Children will cook with eggs from the centre’s own chickens, teaching them sustainable living, co-operation, sharing and measuring.
