“All the kids participated enthusiastically,” teacher David Enever said.
“On the whole the war cries and cheering was fantastic.
“In particular Trinity were incredible, they kept on going chant after chant against the red house.”
Trinity house took out the sportsmanship prize, and the house will be inscribed on the perpetual Spirit Shield, and Plunkett was the overall winning house.
A number of school records were broken by age champions Caitlin Wheeler, Natalia Horsley and Jamie Mooney.
The kids needed little encouragement to make a splash on the hot day, reaching 35 degrees.
There was no excuse not to take to the pool, with novelty events and 25 metre races offering an achievable length for the younger swimmers.
“A lot of the younger age groups get on board with the 25m races, it helps their confidence,” Enever said.
He thanked parents for volunteering and helping out with time-keeping on the day.
