Plans for the national chain to come to South City shopping centre were revealed in August, 2012, but negotiations have hit the wall.
There is also talk of the store taking residence at the $13m Estella shopping centre, but nothing can be confirmed.
The Estella shopping centre will boast the city’s first Chemist Warehouse when it aims to open by Christmas this year.
