Guildford has been given the chance to resurrect his career blighted by alcohol-fuelled incidents after last playing for New Zealand five years ago.
Given the opportunity to start at fullback in her, Guildford injected himself well and looked dangerous in attack before shifting out to the wing later in the win.
Guildford thought his team overcame a scrappy start to come out on top.
He said it was step in right direction as he looks to return to Super Rugby.
“The lungs were struggling a bit but I enjoyed it,” Guildford said. "I managed to get my hands on the ball a bit and get involved so I’m reasonably happy with the first hit out.”
Admitting he felt more comfortable on the wing, Guildford is ensure of what coach Daryl Gibson’s plans are with the likes of Israel Folau to come back into the back line.
