Anyone who has navigated the steps of a plane after touching down on the tarmac at Wagga after a long-haul flight knows the precarious situation.
But one carrier has decided to do away with the steep staircase on its planes – in turn helping out less-abled residents to feel confident to travel by plane.
QantasLink has been rolling out its QRamp around regional airports across the country, with Wagga being the latest to receive the new gear.
Qantaslink Wagga port manager Tim Banger said the ramp had been well received.
“It’s nice and wide and nonslip for seamless boarding and disembarking,” he said.
QantasLink chief John Gissing said the airline continued to look at ways to improve customer experience.
“We now have the QRamp deployed across the majority of our network and we are the only regional airline in Australia with this innovation,” Mr Gissing said.
